JOB SUMMARY

 

The Engineered Product Procurement Specialist supports the Purchasing Department by managing the procurement of engineered components and services within a capital equipment manufacturing environment, ensuring alignment with project cost, quality, and delivery targets and compliance with technical codes and specifications.

 

  • Participate in project teams, driving collaboration between suppliers and design groups and communicating unresolved issues impacting project success.
  • Apply Mechanical Engineering knowledge to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Manage project cost and delivery targets through effective supplier coordination and communication of material data into earned value models.
  • Secure quotes, technical specifications, and place purchase orders in a timely manner with consideration for cost, quality, safety, and delivery.
  • Maintain manufacturing orders, schedules, and shortage reports to support production requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance, including quality and on-time delivery, and investigate missed deliveries and lead-time issues.
  • Manage supplier Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including corrective and preventive actions, returns, rework, and back charges.
  • Develop and support cost reduction initiatives and conduct supplier negotiations.
  • Initiate and manage purchase contracts, Preferred Supplier Agreements, and the qualification of new suppliers.
  • Identify and implement business process improvements and technical solutions to overcome project or supply challenges.
  • Meet with suppliers to resolve issues and maintain a strong technical understanding of purchased components and their final applications.
  • Ensure all activities comply with company policies, procedures, and management direction.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of 7 years of experience in a technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a capital equipment manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and familiarity with ASME, PED, and other industry codes.
  • Strong experience working within an ERP system and high proficiency in Windows-based software (Excel, MS Project, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience delivering Executive Level Presentations.
  • Proven track record of strong negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be well-organized and capable of managing multifaceted projects alongside routine activities.
  • Ability to develop creative business and technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Proactive approach to identifying potential problem areas and presenting viable solutions.

SALARY RANGE

 

  • $75,000 - $85,000 per year
  • Bonus
