We are looking for an Orbital Welder to join our team in Tonawanda (Buffalo, NY).

 

JOB SUMMARY

The selected candidate will work within a collaborative team environment, focusing on the use of orbital welding equipment and the related technical documentation.

 

  • Read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams, as well as general arrangement drawings.
  • Assemble, lay out, and fit general assemblies based on technical specifications.
  • Perform high-quality TIG welds using purge techniques on stainless steel, carbon steel piping, hydraulic lines, and related components.
  • Produce full-penetration welds suitable for sanitary environments.
  • Operate or learn to operate computer-controlled orbital welding equipment.
  • Use a variety of machine tools and fabrication equipment safely and competently (e.g., lathe, drill press, milling machine).
  • Support other manufacturing activities with a flexible, hands-on approach.
  • Ensure smooth operation of the orbital welding function.
  • Contribute to the development of welding processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Evaluate tooling and equipment needs, and support standardization efforts.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and administrative tasks when needed.
  • Support off-site installations and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Promote and uphold all Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) directives.
  • Collaborate with quality testing laboratories as required.

 

This role involves working at heights and in confined spaces, as well as tasks requiring bending, climbing, or lifting up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

 

  • Proficiency in TIG welding and purge techniques
  • Experience working with stainless steel components
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, self-motivation, and solid general welding skills
  • Able to perform assigned tasks independently in a dynamic manufacturing environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU A GREAT FIT

 

  • Certification in orbital welding.
  • High school diploma (trade school background preferred).
  • Experience or training with industrial mobile equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, overhead cranes, and power tools.

SALARY RANGE

 

  • $24/hr - $30/hr
  • Overtime
  • Bonus
