JOB SUMMARY

As part of the Engineering Department, the Technical Writer is responsible for creating high-quality instruction manuals for custom equipment, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, customer specifications, and internal procedures.

 

  • Create, design, and publish instruction manuals for nonstandard systems using desktop publishing tools.
  • Ensure all documentation meets relevant legislation, industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Generate or scan technical illustrations for inclusion in manuals.
  • Review incoming orders to assess documentation needs and plan accordingly.
  • Coordinate with Production and Operations to deliver documentation in a timely manner.
  • Monitor availability of clerical resources for manual assembly.
  • Maintain organized records of all published manuals, including secure backup copies.
  • Recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve documentation efficiency.
  • Review and update existing manual specifications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Produce and maintain internal company forms in accordance with ISO requirements.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Pharmacy, or Chemistry, or 10+ years of equivalent experience in technical manual creation for industrial equipment.
  • Proven experience in writing technical documentation such as instruction manuals, technical specifications, and project-based technical proposals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU A GREAT FIT

 

  • Experience using AutoCAD software.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics or P&IDs.
  • Familiarity with GMP and pharmaceutical regulations.

SALARY RANGE

 

  • $55K/yr - $65K/yr
  • Bonus
